DCNS will exhibit at Expomil 2009 which will be held in Bucharest (Romania) from 11 to 14 November 2009.

DCNS surface combatants and submarines are designed to be used and operated under close political control, in conjunction with allied navies as part of joint and allied forces and for a wide range of missions.
The DCNS stand showcases:
• The innovative Gowind®: a new family of ocean-capable vessels designed by DCNS for all littoral and sea operations. Gowind® vessels are exceptional tools able to fulfil missions ranging from anti-piracy up to sea control and denial.
• The FREMM multi-mission frigates programme combines the latest technologies developed by the DCNS group. These technological and engineering advances will make the FREMM frigates world leaders in their class. France and Italy have already ordered a first batch and Morocco has chosen this frigate to equip its Royal Navy. DCNS has just signed an additional order for three new vessels under the European FREMM multimission frigate programme. This brings France’s total order to 11 vessels, scheduled for delivery from 2012 to 2022. The first of them, « Aquitaine », will be delivered in 2012.
• DCNS will showcase its expertise in submarine design and construction, through the Scorpene medium-size submarines. Already chosen by first rank navies, Scorpene submarines represents the state of the art in submarine design and construction and benefits from the latest technologies developed for nuclear-powered classes operated by the French Navy, particularly as regards acoustic discretion and combat system performance. Excellent endurance makes the Scorpene one of the few medium-displacement designs suitable for extended ocean patrol duties. The modular design can also be readily tailored to each customer’s specific mission profiles and other requirements.
• DCNS has developed the SADA automatic deck landing and take-off system. SADA takes less than 2 minutes to enable a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) UAV on a moving flight deck up to sea state 5. SADA uses an infrared sensor in order to track accurately the UAV while generating flight commands to adjust the trajectory of the UAV. Tracking accuracy is 30 cm which is far better than the one achieved by GPS-only systems. Overall safety and reliability are thus assured. SADA features an open architecture and can be readily and unobtrusively integrated with any VTOL UAV and any type of ship.
• SETIS is a multipurpose integrated combat system for high-intensity naval operations. It manages anti-surface, anti-air and anti-submarine warfare and can be upgraded to meet evolving requirements. SETIS combines large range of sensors and weapons to carry out deep-strike, land-attack, aircraft management and other missions. The capabilities of SETIS combat systems hinge on those of the fully integrated combat management system (CMS) controlling all system functions.
In addition, DCNS has a solid experience in the field of refurbishment and upgrade of vessels and has delivered some of the world's most advanced systems to several Navies around the world.
• MATRICS (MAritime Traffic Intelligence and Coastal Surveillance) is a taylor-made solution to monitor and protect maritime borders up to exclusive economic zone (EEZ). This offer is intended for civil and military administrations and other bodies contributing to government actions at sea.
• Sylver® modules on surface combatants serve as both safe storage silos and vertical launchers. The upper portion protects the missiles against environmental conditions, shock and vibration as well as projectiles and small-calibre bullets. DCNS completed the 100th Sylver® vertical missile launcher last September. The Sylver® A35, the latest addition to the family, can accommodate missiles up to 3.5 m long, specifically, to date, the VL Mica from MBDA and the VT1 from Thales.
