Anti-torpedo countermeasures system for surface vessels
The deployment of ultra-modern heavyweight torpedoes has created the need for new ship protection systems. The CONTRALTO-V® system is the world’s only solution compatible with the anti-wake homing capability developed by DCNS and Lacroix. It provides protection against all types of heavyweight torpedoes with a success rate validated by sea trials. IT is a system that is fully integrated in the combat management system (CMS) that proposes an evasive maneuver to the carrier and triggers the launch of CANTO® munitions.The CANTO® decoy jammer, compatible with all types of launchers and due to be fitted to FREMM frigates, is a wide-spectrum jammer. It has been designed to satisfy the need to decoy and jam torpedoes fitted with acoustic heads, and to do so throughout the frequency spectrum and irrespective of the mode used by the torpedo’s sonar (passive or active). Its role is to deflect the threat while concealing the ship to allow it to take evasive action.
