Technical Availability

DCNS has taken a major step in the area of maintenance and repair with the adoption of guaranteed availability contracts. The obligation to exercise due care becomes an obligation to guarantee results, with a payment system designed to reward performance.

Globalization of maintenance
Technical Availability Services contracts are provided to a given category or class of ship. This makes it possible to reduce the cost of obtaining supplies of spare parts.

Multi-year contracts
Agreed for periods of several years, the Technical Availability Services contracts allow the prime contractor and partners to enjoy greater visibility of their future obligations and to improve the management of their inventories.

Optimized availability
The solution offered by DCNS takes full account of the operational needs and budgetary constraints of its customers. The availability rate is agreed in advance between the client Navy and DCNS.

A single prime contractor
This new solution provides the client Navy with a single contact, as opposed to the previous situation involving a host of contractors and subcontractors. Responsibility for industrial maintenance is assumed by a prime contractor that is, in turn, responsible for its own subcontractors.

Development of the local industry
DCNS calls on the services of local partners who benefit from the long-term approach adopted by the Group and its client Navies. This enables the Group’s partners to develop their own activities on the basis of a reliable view of their medium- and long-term future.
