Multi-mission unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) for submarines
As emphasized in the white paper recently published by the French Government, intelligence gathering has become a mission of strategic importance. The upsurge in conflicts in coastal regions, the need to protect maritime supply routes, and the diffuse nature of current threats are forcing navies to acquire new resources in this area.
Thanks to its discretion and autonomy, the ASM-X UUV – an unmanned underwater vehicle derived from a torpedo design – will become the ideal instrument to offer a more effective response to these new challenges.
The ASM-X UUV will enhance submarines’ operational capabilities:
- By gathering and transmitting strategic intelligence in real time.
- By accessing regions without revealing the presence of the submarine.
- By offering its parent vessel a means of additional protection.
