Integrated naval UXVS

Missions
Integrated naval UXV’s provide Force Multiplier capacities to Naval Forces. As an expert in naval integration, DCNS provides high added-value solutions for UXV integration such as automatic launch and recovery, dynamic control, functional integration to the combat system and on board physical integration.

A dedicated expert team
DCNS boasts an expert team dedicated to USV’s integration and R&D, working in close cooperation with design and production departments (aviation, naval systems, naval architecture).

A proactive growth strategy
DCNS’ expertise in the field of UXV’s continues to build up with the acquisition in 2008 of SIREHNA, a niche company which has developed a unique know-how in command and control algorithms including ship motion prediction. Furthermore, DCNS develops new self-funded solutions such as automatic deck landing: flight tests have been successfully performed in October 2008 on board FNS Montcalm.

Ongoing innovation
To guarantee safe operation at sea, integration of UXV requires accurate expertise in aerodynamic and electromagnetic environment fields: Once again, DCNS recognized background legimates solutions implemented. On the other hand, manual control of UAV reduces their operational availability. Therefore, DCNS has developed and tested a fully automatic Take Off and Decking system (SADA) based on infrared accurate tracking of the UAV, allowing round the clock operation in poor weather condition up to sea state 5. Last but not least, in order to fully take advantage of the critical data provided by advanced sensors, DCNS fully integrates UXV’s to the ships’ combat system.
